emt crisis fund

In the 17th-18th century, pirates used their skull-and-crossbones flag (called the "Jolly Roger" flag) on their ships to tell their victims they were being attacked by buccaneers. Upon seeing the Jolly Roger, merchant ships knew they were in for a vicious and merciless battle, followed by rape, plunder, and executions if they resisted. They would often surrender their ships, wealth, and cargo without a fight.

Today, NJ's EMS agencies face a plundering of their Trust Fund - the EMT Training Fund - by Governor Corzine to close his budget gap. NJ's EMT's have already begun fighting to save this fund. This fight will not be won with sword and musket, but rather by winning over NJ's public and politicians. This requires us to keep awareness high and make sure EVERY NJ voter is aware of our struggle.

Attached to this email is a Jon Corzine's pirate flag, which we've dubbed it the "Jonny Roger" after the Governor. We need to get this flag displayed as much as possible to the general public. Please do the following:

- Email the Jonny Roger to all your friends, family, and EMS squad members
- Print the Jonny Roger and hang him in the rear window of your car (in a way that won't get you pulled over!)
- Print some Jonny Rogers to give to your friends at work
- Put a Jonny Roger in the back window of your ambulance

If you hang a Jonny Roger somewhere, take a picture of it and email it to president@njemsea.org or text it to 201-390-2608 so we can see it. We will be uploading the best Jonny Roger pictures to our website/facebook cause pages.

Let's show New Jersey it's EMT's will not surrender our Training Fund without a fight!
